Question: If your main character were deserted on a desert island, what 3 personal objects would they want with them and why?
Answer: One object the main character would want is his underwear because he wouldn't want to be nude on an island. Another object the main character would want is the monster blood in a can, and the shrink formula, because he can use it to grow really big so he can swim away from the island to shore. Then he can use the shrink formula to shrink back to "normal" size. The last but not least object he would want is his dog Trigger because he would want a friend to be with him on an island.

Question: What is the setting of your book (time and place)? How would the story change if you changed the setting? Give at least one specific example.
Answer: The setting of the book takes place on a baseball field in the summer, after basketball season. The story would change, if I changed the setting to Spring, by that Ben and his friends would still have school and they would still be playing basketball. One fact I learned in this book was the reason Ali wanted to box was to be able to "whup" the person who took his bike when he was younger. A second fact I learned is that Muhammad Ali's name before he became famous is Cassius Clay. A third fact I learned is that boxing was good for Clay but his grades weren't. He focused more on boxing than school. One characteristics that were helpful for Ali was his determination. He was the hardest worker in his childhood gym. Another characteristics that was helpful was his swiftness. He was fast on his feet while taking down his opponents. One question I have is " Has Muhammad Ali find the guy/girl who took his bike"?
Question: Discuss a funny or ironic part of the story that was in your book.
Answer: A funny part of the story in my book was when Sam bobbling his head while laughing when he won H-O-R-S-E against Ben. I thought this was funny because Sam was doing what Chase did to Ben when the Darby's won against the Rams. Another reason is that in my mind, I haven't seen many people bobble their head up and down while laughing, I thought of a cartoon character swinging their head up and down while laughing. Question: Did something challenged or confused the main character?
Answer: Yes, something has challenged the main character. The main character's name is Ben. Ben has faced a hard antagonist named Chase Braggs. Chase is a really good basketball player and better than Ben. Chase was a new member in the opposite team of Ben. Ben's team got demolished by Chase's team. At first Ben was confident he and his team could beat the team they were playing against, but they were totally wrong he felt like a loser and was jealous of Chase when he was beaten. Question: How do you compare to the main character of your book?
Answer: The main character and I are both boys that goes to school. The main charcter and I eat food everyday. I'm in a soccer team. The main character is in a football team. The main character and I are different races. The main character and I were born at different places. I would say the main character would be better than me. Question: What about this book amazed, interested, or stood out to you as you read?
Answer: One thing that amazed and stood out to me as I read was when Shawn told Ben his secret that he doesn't want to be the QB. Shawn didn't tell his dad this because he didn't want to upset his dad, His dad really wanted a son to play and be a better QB than he was when he played. Ben was the only one Shawn told about this. This stood out to me because Shawn just made friends with Ben, and I think not a lot of people will tell someone they just befriended one their secrets. |
